Driving Home for Christmas

Please keep your fingers crossed I am on my way home now listening to Christmas songs on the train. And that I am not sat crying on a platform somewhere!

Happy Christmas to each and every one of you lovely readers.

I hope you have a magical day tomorrow filled with so many goodies from Santa. Make sure you leave him his mince pie, milk and a carrot tonight!

Winter Wonderland

I think I have seen a bazillion Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park posts. But each one was equally as magical! I went last weekend with some friends who I had not seen for a little while. It was such a nice day, and I was so excited to spend time with them. And to get in the festive spirit, it is simply not as much fun when you do not have the Christmas Holidays anymore :-( But I will not get into that rant!

Here are a few select snaps from the day. I admit I did a rubbish job at taking pictures- it was FREEZING! I was taking my hands out my pockets for no one not even you :-P

Two of my best friends.

A huge talking tree

A marshmallow on a stick- £3.50!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mulled Wine and Cider in a Carousel bar that actually moved round and round.

Cute hats, scarves and gloves in one!

I am so desperate to get to my family home for Christmas now, especially because my family are all there celebrating already- this is my first year away from home over the festive season! I missed decorating the tree with the disney ornaments, it is looking a lot more coordinated due to me not getting my hands on it! (Not impressed Moisie) They keep sending me sneaky snaps that are making me so jealous I am not there with them, yet I secretly love them at the same time.

Flutter those beautiful lashes.

One of my pet peeves are my eyelashes. Although they are long and have the potential to look beautiful, no amount of curling, faffing or numerous mascara attempts will make them curl. They are like straight flat slugs and drive me WILDDDD.

So you can imagine how excited I was when my friend doing a beauty course rings me to say she has solved my biggest problem on earth and is going to come fix my broken eyelashes!!!

Eylure Individual lashes. We bought these in Boots, they were buy one get one half price at £5.30 a box. You could probably get several applications to a box. And they come in black or brown.

The application process is kindly demonstrated by two of the bestest friends everrrr (leaving me to take the dodgy pictures).

1. Using tweezers remove a lash from the tray.

2. Dip the knot into the adhesive.

3. Place the lash ontop of own lashes with the knot near but not touching your eyelid.

It is quite a simple process, and I think you could even master applying these yourself after a bit of practice. It took nowhere near as long as a I though- approximately 30 minutes for both eyes! There are a few complications we encountered though... the tweezers get sticky and then it it impossible to make the knot stick to your lashes (we found a bit of alcohol gel helps). Also it is quite easy to accidently adjust lashes that have already been applied when sticking on new ones.

However I think you can easily overcome these problems when you see the results. This is my friend who has quite small eyes and eyelashes, she used black eyelashes.

BEFORE

AFTER

I think these look amazing. They look so natural, but could easily pull off an evening look. I could not stop staring at them!

Here are my "bulging frog eyes with slug lashes"- this must be an accurate description, she is a beauty professional after all. I used brown eyelashes as mine are quite fair.

BEFORE

AFTER

I have to admit I was SO impressed. The following day at work about 9 people commented on how nice my eyelashes looked! And no one guessed they were not mine at all- therefore they must look pretty natural!

My only down side- technically they are suppose to last a week or two if cared for properly. (Avoiding rubbing eyes, and oil based cleansers) But after 3 days a few of mine fell out (I possibly did a sneaky bit of eye rubbing) and I removed them as it was a bit patchy looking. Another warning is to make sure you use the lash remover that is supplied- if you pick at them you will break/loose your eyelashes!

However all in all I would definitely use these for a night out, or special occasions. You do not get the fake eyelash feeling where you are desperate to rip them off at the end of the day, infact you do not know they are there at all.

I highly highly recommend these if you have a friend you trust not to glue your eyes together, or one you love enough to forgive if they do. Or even for an attempt alone. They are simple fantastic.

Operator I have an emergency.

Sadly I had a time of need where I was down in dumps. My friends had returned home after a wonderful weekend of best friend christmas activities. It was so nice to be with them again. And so sad when it was over.

There was only one thing for it.... The emergency kit. If you have no idea what I am talking about... You can find out here! It was made for me by one my friends that stayed the weekend, I knew it would cheer me up.

I thought I would share the contents with you- although major private joke alert, you may think these contents seem ridiculous to cheer up a friend.

It was rammed full of goodies. She included a letter with an explanation for each item. It did instantly make me laugh, however I have to admit I did a weird bit of crying and laughing by myself for quite a while. I did feel a lot better after :-D

This is my new emergency nail varnish. It is Rimmel- Misty Jade. I really love it, I find these nail varnishes really easy to apply and it has lasted well.

So when you read this thank you sooooooo much for doing this for me. And guys I definitely recommend doing this for a friend. It is such a nice feeling to know you have a back up plan when you feel sad besides hanging out with Ben, Jerry and a shovel.

Versatile Blogger Award

I would like to say a hugeeeee thank you to Carissa from Vanilla Crush who nominated me for this award. How nice of her, go be super kind on her blog? :-D

So here are 7 facts about me:

1. My favourite place to eat at the moment is Yo Sushi not just because I love having my own water fountain and trying to use chopsticks. I secretly enjoy watching my boyfriends face, as I force feed him fishy delights.

2. I adore cute pet names. I am head over heels in love with Mister Tibbles and the loveheart on his belly, Sir Maslow despite his dribbly chin and Zebedeee Doodah the greediest hamster ever.

3. I cannot believe I am no longer a student. I miss my dodgy student house, running out of electricity (who's turn was it to top up the electric key?) and sitting in the dark, all getting in the bed on birthdays like a family and waiting 2 hours for our slow oven to cook chips.

4. I am like an excitable child. I wish I could live in Neverland with Peter Pan and never grow up.

5. My boyfriend has somehow started me a collection of TY Beanie Boo's I should really tell him to stop but I cannot resist their big round eyes.

6. When I grow up, I want a library in my house with a ladder that whizzes around the room.

7.  One day I will own a sausage dog called Waddleton and he will wear a sock with leg holes.

Here are the 15 people whose 7 facts I would love to hear! :-)

Sparkly tootsies.

One of my favourite things is nail varnish. I love nothing more than painting my fingers and toes pretty colours. Sadly I am unable to paint my fingers often, as I cannot wear it to work :-( which makes me very sad. However there is something satisfying about knowing my toes are having a rainbow party secretly in my socks.

I have never seen anyone's toes on their blog before. I think a lot of people think toes are a bit strange and secret! However I think toes are cute. Everyone has such different adorable toes, so please if you read this.... Make your toes pretty and blog about them! Here are my toes showing you my ten favourite nail varnishes at the moment (this changes frequently).

From left to right

1. Maybelline Express Finish- Just Pink
2. Barry M Nail Paint- No. 40 (it does not have a name)
3. No7 Stay Perfect- Poolside Blue
4. Collection 2000 Hot Looks- Couture
5. Sally Hansen No Chip 10 Day Colour- Forever Mango

6. Rimmel 60 Seconds- Green with Envy
7. Sally Hansen No Chip 10 Day Colour- Potent Pink
8. Essie- Loophole
9. Leighton Denny- Babydoll
10. Ciate- Kitten Heels

I would like to show you my most favourite nail varnish I have EVER owned. I could wear it everyday forever.

Deborah Lippmann- Happy Birthday

It transform every single colour in a magical way.

Hope you enjoyed my toes.

P.S. Sadly I have realised I made a mistake on my blog giving away the christmas present!!!! I obviously want it to arrive before Christmas and I meant to choose the random winner on Sunday 11th not the 18th!!! Therefore due to super duper important christmas circumstances, I am going to choose the winner on Wednesday 14th DecemberClick here to go leave a comment and enter.

What is in my basket I take to the shower?

I currently share a bathroom with the other mysterious people (which I will not go into, it could be a whole new post) in my flat. Seeing as I am the newbie, and do not know them at all (or what some of them look like) I felt a bit uncomfortable leaving all my bits in the bathroom because:

a) I could easily take over- there is about half the amount of stuff I have in the bathroom between all of them!!!! I do not want to seem greedy in the bathroom as well as the kitchen :-P

b) What if someone squirts all my stuff round for a joke? :-O

What I am getting too.... Is I have this cute little shopping basket (which was a lovely birthday present) that I keep my bits in and carry them with me. And I thought for some crazy reason I would show them to you, as you can see I like a large choice in the bathroom.

1. TIGI Bedhead Superstar Shampoo AND 2. TIGI Bedhead Superstar ConditionerA friend bought me this set as a present, they are seriously the most amazing smelling set ever, they make my head and the whole shower room smell just like Skittles the sweets. This is designed for "massive thick hair" I have unmassive unthick hair- and it still works just fine, leaves my hair feeling lovely :-P

3. Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo AND 4. Aussie Miracle Moist Conditioner- These are limited edition to celebrate "Happy Aussie-versary Australia"  The packaging is adorable. They are for hair that is "dry, damaged, a bit unhappy" my hair is definitely not unhappy anymore. I personally think the shampoo smells like Bubbly bubblegum (the little individual sweets in blue and pink wrappers) mmmm.

5. Treaclemoon My Coconut Island Body Scrub- I love coconut smelling products, this scrub has a real gritty feel which I actually like and leaves my skin feeling nice and soft. I love these products as they have really cute strange things on the bottles. "I'm going to a faraway place she said... just for a while... her toes wriggled in the warm sand and a silly seagull laughed and danced in the sweet wind." It sounds magical! It also says "Unsuitable for gnomes".

6. Neal Wolf Harmony Intensive Treatment- This actually came in a Glossybox, and I am so glad it did. I try not to use this product too often- at £12.95 a bottle it is pricier than I would normally pay. The smell is delicious, I do not know how to describe it.  (I am not great at describing smells unless it smells like some form of sweet) I love the effect I get get after using this product, my hair feels so soft and silky and the smell lingers.

7. Ted Baker Body Scrub- This was part of a gift set I found in a box at home recently. I adore the packaging- anything pink and I am sold. Sadly I do not love this body scrub- I do not find it scrubs enough!! The smell is nice, but not one of my favourites. I would not purchase this product when it is empty.

8. The Body Shop African Spa Salt Scrub- This has a pretty delicate smell, and I love this scrub. It contains shea butter and has a really smooth creamy texture with large salt crystals and this leaves my skin feeling greatttttt. I think a definite must have :-D

9. Santuary Deep Cleanse Facial-  The product smells really clean almost soapy. It lathers slightly, and is gentle on the eyes. (I have a major issue about things in my eyes, so if I approve it is definitely okay) It leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth. I do really like it... but I am still on a mission to find my favourite.

10. Nivea for Men Shower Gel- This is obviously not mine. (although my sister loves men's shower products) I am not sure it deserves a place in my beautiful basket but I do like the smell and occasionally like my boyfriend.

Well I hope you have not fell asleep. Or finished this post and are bored to death by me trying to explain smells.

P.S. Tell me if this sucks and I will avoid it like the plague in future?

A little teaser

It feels like it has been forever guys. Sorry :-( I have been doing night shifts. Finding everything a bit crazy at the moment- but this is not a blog about work!!!!

I know I said I was going to give the winner of my previous blog a surprise... But I figured it is even more exciting to have a little teaser of what could be coming your way! (If you do not know what I am on about- please read my previous post and leave a comment there to enter with your email) However if you do know... dun dun dun..... This could be yours.

I am so glad it is finally time for mince pies and clotted cream again. Clotted cream is one of my favourite things ever. I could literally eat it all in one go. I do not know how I resist. Especially now I am miles and miles away from my parents- who never really liked me digging in with my spoon! (I know you will be reading this Moi and tut tut tutting at me. yum yum yum

Ooooh and guess what? I got my first Christmas card yesterday in the post!!!!!!! Isn'y Rudolph handsome with his super glittery nose?

I feel I have overloaded on Christmas things lately.... I apologise but I am just so excitable about this time of year. So I promise I will think of something else to write about later. Before I change this blog name to christmascards and presents and talk about christmas allllllll yearrrrrr longggggg. (sad thing is I probably could)

I will leave you with this picture that I was not going to show you. But when I showed my boyfriend he laughed so much at the silly idea- I simply had too.

All I wanted to do was show you my new furry earmuffs on a headband cause I love them so much!!!! Fantastic idea- Primark £3.00!!!! But I have no blank area to take a picture against as my walls are covered in pictures and wrapping paper (DIY decorating) At the time this seemed a good idea. On reflection I agree I look a twonk.

50 Followers????? :-O Serious?

Hi girls.

A blog with a sneaky christmas parcel for you. But first.... a few christmas things!

Lady FrostyBum PaddlePickle showing off her goodie.

These Mr Kipling individual christmas cakes are packaged in such a cute way I could not resist buying them. Plus I love christmas cake- hopefully these will get me through my night shift!!!!

Beautiful Fairy Lights

I started this blog exactly- three weeks ago tomorrow. And I honestly did not think I would ever have 10 followers!!!! I want to say a huge thank you to all of you that clicked that follow button, or even read it without clicking! I have looked at every single one of you, and smiled fondly. I am excited that you can join me on this journey. I still cannot contain my excitement when I get a new follower, or comment- I don't think I ever will.

I would like to send a christmas parcel to one of you. It is not going to be a super duper expensive amazing gift. Just a bit of christmas cheer. If you would like this little goodie arriving on your door simply be a follower (it is looking for a loveletterandsnippet reader house) and leave me a message on this post with your email and maybe some festive cheer if your in the mood. I am not going to show you this present, because I love getting surprises (as you can probably tell) so do not send a comment if you hate surprises :-p

P.S. The owner of the mystery package will be picked at random on Sunday 18th- so hopefully it can arrive to go under your tree.

A BFF is for life, not just for christmas fun.

I have arrived back in London after a rather stressful journey, and I arrived to a little red slip telling me to go collect a parcel and I found this.....

:-O whatever can it be?

A Happy Hello Kitty Christmas advent calendar. This really made me laugh. We have a joke about Kinnerton chocolate, anyone else think they tastes like wood?

Yumyum five woody chocolates for me.

Five woody chocolates sitting in a row, five woody chocolates sitting in a row, along came a beaver and had a little gnaw... now there are four woody chocolates sitting in a row.  And here is a snippet of my letter... a very artistic drawing of us with super long eyelashes and super short dresses. Haha.

THANK YOU PEACHY.

I hope this post makes you think of a BFF :-)

Bargain Hunter.

Morning kids.

I have been up since 5am, and I am now sat stranded in a train station. What a better time to blog? My weekend has consisted pretty much entirely of christmas shopping!!!! Note to self never attempt Cabot Circus in Bristol on a Saturday before christmas ever again. It was a nightmare!!!

I am desperate to share some presents I picked up. But obviously it will give the game away if any of them sneak a peek at this. So instead I thought I would show you this tshirt I bought for my boyfriend- that obviously he has to wear everyday until Christmas. Is it not the most adorable thing ever? I fell in love instantly with Mr Christmas. This was from Primark, £6!

I also had to pick up a little present for myself when I saw these reduced to £12 in Peacocks! Definitely my bargain of the week.

My Christmas Essentials!

I thought I would share a teeenie weeenie amount of my current christmas essentials with you girls.

A new gold sparkly nail varnish. I have just arrived home to my new ELF order. :-D This is Golden Goddess- and it is beautiful, it really catches the light and would be perfect over a christmas colour (however I have come home this weekend and packed in a bit of a rush). Plus it was only £1.50!!!!!

A new yummy vaseline. I love vaseline in the winter, and I awaited the new limited edition flavour to be released anxiously. I was so excited when I saw it was Creme Brulee- this is one of my favourite desserts!!! I think it smells heavenly. I picked this up in Selfridges, I am not sure if it has been launched to drug stores yet. Definitely keep your eyes peeled though!

A new christmas album. Every year it is VITAL to try a new christmas album I have just got Joe Mcelderry- Classic Christmas. I have always had a bit of a soft spot for his adorable face and this album makes my insides get a bit squishy. I do love cheery dancy christmas songs, but there is something about a classic christmas song.

What is your favourite christmas song? I literally have a million. But if I really push myself my all time favourite (which I admit I actually listen to all year round shhh don't tell anyone) is Elton John- Step into Christmas. I literally cannot listen to it without doing a banana mouth grin.

Lastly my family and friends and pets. Christmas would not be the same without them, I am gutted I am not able to spend the christmas period here, but so thankful I can at least be here when Santa comes on christmas day. Whilst trying to write this, one of my cats came to sit on the keyboard and rub his chin on the corner of my screen- he obviously wanted to be a part of this blog. This is Sir Maslow.
