OOTD #1

So I rarely post any outfit pictures on this blog, this is for 3 main reasons:

1) I always look awkward.

2) My Blackberry and camera are about 5 years old and make things a bit tricky.

3) You will see I am the reason Primark is still in business.

However.... After months of Orange issues and awaiting the next billing date in order for them to tell me another lie (this is a story worth starting a new blog about). I cancelled my contract and finally  upgraded to an iPhone, yayy! Sadly an iPhone is not going to make me into a outfit posing pro, but can take a few pictures or two with the help of an unwilling assistant.

Scarf- Market stall
Dress- H&M

P.S if you do not own a pair of Primark super cosy tights... Then you better run there right now or your feet will hate you for the deprivation of fleecy lining.

P.P.S this is my first blog post from my phone!!!!

Ruby Red

I never paint my nails dark colours. I just normally do not get the urge.... until last week. I found this little nail varnish that I received in a Glossybox months and months ago and gave to my mum. I applied a sneaky coat and instantly stole it back. I now understand the magic of a dark nail, and I will shortly be expanding my collection for winter!

Orly- Ruby. This paints like a dream, and is so glossy, I cannot stop looking at my fingers shining. Only problem is... it is making me feel slightly christmassy!!!

Finding Prince Charming

If you have seen the Match.com adverts, you probably believe that it is all rosey- you know...  simple to set up a profile, thousands of attractive, witty (but not arrogant men) will want to take you out for dinner and lastly it's easy to meet the man you want to marry. Wrong. There are a lot of bits Match.com withhold on the cute snippets of television. I thought I would share a few problems that have been encountered whilst helping my friend/flatmate Sarah.

1) You have to answer about 2,000 questions before you can even get going on your quest for love. I am not sure how ranking the Spice girls, or what your animal you most look like can influence anything.

2) A display picture. This is no facebook profile. Oh no. This is a Match.com profile. This single picture is influencing the rest of your life. You do not want to go for something that could be considered inappropriate, and portray you as wild or a party animal and attract the wrong type of person.

Equally you do not want to look too relaxed and laid back to even make an effort with your face and hair, and attract a slob or someone who pretends to enjoy your "natural beauty".

It is about finding a midpoint between a "not caring what people think" attitude and looking an absolute wierdo.

Sarah went with this. Simple, beautiful and a slight bit of cleavage.

3) Your advert. Do not: sound desperate and lonely, act like a big fat liar,  fluff it up, sound boring, give any reference that you already have your wedding dress picked out, talk too much about your love of furry animals- cats in particular, list all your favourite disney movies or talk about how much you loved Magic Mike. But what is left to talk about?

4) You need a degree in understanding the rules of winking. So someone views your profile, then winks at you. Do you wink back? Then await to see if they will wink again, or make a move? Or take the plunge to send that first awkward message?

5) What do you say in that first awkward message?

Please if you have any Match.com experience. Or just a general suggestion, share it :-)

H.O.L.I.D.A.Y

I fell in love with Italy.

In love with.... the beautiful blue twinkling sea, the mama who invited us to her bar so she could cook dinner, the kinder bueno ice cream, wearing pretty dresses everyday, the sunshine always shining, time for reading stories, the Italian language, playing stupid games, the huge Sunseeker yachts making everyone jealous with the little welcome mats, hearing constant laughter.

Not so in love with.... the mission to arrive on the Island, the rabbit served to us by mama, the thousands of ants trying to steal the biscuits, the trek to the market on the bus that comes when it wants, making 6 cups of tea (and one black coffee) in a saucepan, the 200 steps down to the beach but those bits made the holiday.

I spent a wonderful 10 days in Ischia, Italy, surrounded by a handful of my favourite people. I bought a surprise pair of "Holiday" glasses for everyone which were handed out on arrival and a challenge set. Everyone was given the sunglasses, a letter and the challenge of a portrait picture. Not everything turned out perfectly. But I still think it kinda works- with a bit of imagination. Can you see the word?

So thanks guys for coming on holiday with me, posing in ridiculous glasses and making it one of the best holidays ever.

lots of love
